Early-morning sidewalk singer arrested; Amber’s Cabaret leaves drunk man wanting more: Brook Park police blotter

Disorderly conduct, Sanfield Drive: A Middleburg Heights man, 19, was arrested at about 2 a.m. Dec. 4 after he was seen walking and yelling on Sanfield.

A resident called police about the man, who was singing and shouting profanities while walking on the sidewalk. Initially, the man falsely identified himself to police. The man finally admitted who he was at the police station. Police said the man was not drunk or on drugs.

Disorderly conduct, Brookpark Road: An intoxicated Berea man, 34, was arrested at about 2 a.m. Dec. 11 after he raised a ruckus outside Amber’s Cabaret, 13311 Brookpark.

The bar had closed for the night but the man wanted back inside. He kicked the front door. By the time police arrived, the man was stumbling to his car. He had difficulty standing. The man told police he wanted to re-enter the bar.

Disorderly conduct, Hummel Road: A Lakewood man, 25, was arrested at about 3:40 p.m. Dec. 9 after he was seen littering and drinking beer inside a vehicle parked outside Clutch Automotive, 15059 Hummel.

A police officer saw the man tossing trash out his vehicle window. The officer approached the vehicle and saw two open containers of alcohol inside. During the arrest, the man asked police if they had anything better to do.

Theft, West 130th Street: Two males stole five cases of Red Bull energy drinks from Speedway, 5764 West 130th.

The incident was reported at about 1:30 p.m. Nov. 22. The males carried the five cases out the back door of Speedway, setting off an alarm. Their images were captured on security video. Police are investigating.

Theft, Snow Road: A male was arrested at about 8:20 p.m. Dec. 1 after he was observed concealing two packs of steaks in his pants in Giant Eagle, 14650 Snow.

Giant Eagle workers saw it happen and stopped the male before he left the store. While police were booking the male, they found a syringe in his jacket pocket.

Theft, Heatherwood Drive: Someone stole a package that had been delivered to a front yard on Heathwood.

The victim reported the incident at about 12:55 p.m. Dec. 6. The package contained a laptop computer. The victim knew that a package had been delivered to his home because he had been notified by phone.

Larceny, Smith Road: A pair of Apple AirPods were reported stolen at about 12:20 p.m. Dec. 9 from Planet Fitness, 5755 Smith.

The victim said she had mistakenly left the devices in the Planet Fitness tanning room. When she returned to retrieve them, they were gone.

Counterfeit money, Snow Road: A male called police at about 2:30 p.m. Dec. 3 and said someone gave him $260 in counterfeit cash during a business transaction outside CVS Pharmacy, 14372 Snow.

The victim had arranged online to sell the offender a pair of shoes. They met outside CVS. The victim didn’t realize the money was counterfeit until after the deal.
