Two people hurt in Winona County rollover, but dog OK

December 26, 2018

Two people from Madison, Wis., were injured — but their dog was not — in a rollover accident on I-90 in Winona County on Sunday morning.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Sarah Jane Urban, 41, was driving a 2004 GMC Sierra westbound on I-90 near Highway 76 in the Pleasant Hill Township when she lost control of the vehicle. The truck went into the median, rolled, then continued across the eastbound lanes and came to rest on the eastbound shoulder.

The driver and a male passenger, Christopher Peder Urban, 43, were taken to Gundersen Lutheran Health Systems in La Crosse with non-life threatening injuries. They were both wearing their seat belts and alcohol was not believed to be a factor. The roads were covered in snow and ice, according to the report.

The report also said a dog in the vehicle was not hurt in the accident.

The Winona County Sheriff’s Office, Ridgeway Fire Department and Winona Area Ambulance assisted on the scene.
