Fourth Street lane closing for steam line repair
An eastbound lane of Fourth Street Southeast will be closed for a month starting Friday.
The section between Sixth and 14th avenues will be reduced to a single eastbound lane to make way for steam line repairs, according to Rochester Public Works.
The sidewalk on the south side of Fourth Street will also be closed throughout the project, which is schedule to continue through June 10.
Several intersections along Fourth Street Southeast — at Sixth, Seventh, 11th, 13th and 14th avenues — will also be affected by the work.
The 11th Avenue intersection will be closed to traffic periodically between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. during the week of May 13. At 4:15 p.m. on that Friday, it will be closed for the weekend. It will close again between May 24 and May 27.
The intersection at 13th Avenue will be closed throughout the project
Traffic needing to detour around the area will be instructed to use 12th Street Southeast, Broadway Avenue South and Fourth Street Southeast.
This closure will impact bus routes, but access to all properties is expected to be maintained.
