Futures rise in yet another volatile week
NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. stock futures are rising in yet another volatile week for markets at home and abroad.
Dow Jones industrial futures are up 76 points to 15,214. The broader S&P futures have added 9 points to 1,636.10. Nasdaq futures are up 14 points to 2,977.50.
There has been little in the way of economic indicators this week and markets are being driven instead by what is not known.
That includes gauging the U.S. commitment to its massive bond-buying program, China’s potential for continued growth and Europe’s ability to shake free of its debt crisis. On Tuesday, a global market sell-off started in Japan after its central bank revealed no plans to cool its extraordinarily volatile bond market.
The U.S. Treasury releases its monthly budget data Wednesday.
