Preferred renovation concept chosen for Lead’s Mountain Top Field

LEAD — Mountaintop Field, located behind Lead-Deadwood High School, is slated for a makeover, and May 14, the Lead-Deadwood School Board was presented with the preferred renovation concept.

Tonya Olson of Tallgrass Landscape Architecture, LLC addressed the board, explaining that a taskforce comprised of school district officials, community members, and board members had arrived at the chosen design, following input and a desire to maximize the usage potential of the facility. She explained that a site analysis was completed prior to development of the design concept.

“That includes the physical conditions, the retaining walls, wayfinding, the bathroom building, ADA accessibility, and drainage issues,” Olson said. “We’re also looking at the existing buildings.”
