Lowell Church to Bless Animals
LOWELL -- For the first time, the St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Lowell is hosting a Blessing of the Animals celebration. The celebration will take place on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m. at the church, located at 44 Bowers St. Those interested should bring their animals to the church parking lot.
The rain date is Saturday, Oct. 20 at 1 p.m.

Town Meeting preview on Oct. 4
WESTFORD -- The League of Women Voters of Westford will host a preview of the Special Town Meeting warrant Thursday, Oct. 4, starting at 7 p.m., at the Millennium School Conference Room B, 23 Depot St.
Bob Price, Assistant Town Manager Eric Heideman and Town Finance Director Dan O’Donnell will explain the articles that will be on the warrant for Special Town Meeting, which is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 15, starting at 7 p.m., at the Abbot School gymnasium in Westford.
Voter registration deadline to participate in Special Town Meeting is Friday, Oct. 5, at 8 p.m.

Author Amy Bass at MCC
LOWELL -- As part of its Visiting Writers Series, Middlesex Community College will host author Amy Bass on Thursday, Oct. 4, at 12:30 p.m., in the Federal Building Assembly Room, 33 Kearney Square, on the Lowell campus.
Bass is a professor of history at The College of New Rochelle and is widely published on the cultural history of sports. She will read from and discuss her work. The event is free and open to the public.

Fair returns to Pelham, N.H.
PELHAM, N.H. -- The Old A-Fair, featuring antiques, crafts and more, will return to Brookside Farms on Saturday, Oct. 20.
The event, presented by Brookside Farms and Mill City Traders, is open to the general public. No admission or parking fees.
The fair will be held from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Brookside Farms, located at 8 Mammoth Road.
