SEATTLE (AP) _ Scott Bradley and Henry Cotto hit run-scoring singles and three Seattle pitchers combined on a four-hitter as the Mariners defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 2-0 Monday night.

It was the first shutout of the season for Seattle, the last team in the major leagues to hold an opponent scoreless.

Scott Bankhead, 1-2, was perfect over the first three innings before yielding a leadoff single to Paul Molitor in the fourth. The Mariners' starter struck out six and walked one before giving way to Mike Jackson with Rob Deer on first base and no outs in the seventh inning.

Jackson retired all six batters he faced. Mike Moore pitched a perfect ninth to earn his second career save and first since Aug. 4, 1986.

Ken Phelps walked in the second inning against Don August, 1-1, and advanced to third when Glenn Wilson's sharp grounder caromed off shortstop Ernest Riles into left field for an error. Bradley singled to score Phelps.

With two outs in the fourth, Bradley and Rey Quinones singled and Harold Reynolds walked to load the bases. Cotto's single drove in Bradley.
