JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — Juneau police say a man found dead in a pond has been positively identified.

The body of 25-year-old Christian Knapp of Juneau was recovered from a pond in the Mendenhall Valley. The cause of his death has not been released.

A woman shortly after 3:30 p.m. July 3 called police to report a body floating in the pond near Mendenhall Loop about two blocks north of the Glacier Highway.

Capital City Fire and Rescue recovered the body in about 4 feet (1.2 meters) of water in a marshy area with tall grass.
