Dec. 4, 1918: Paris Is A Long Ways From “Gay Paree” Writes A.M. Bergere To Old Town
Dec. 4, 1968: Santa Fe lost a great and colorful member of the art colony with the death Tuesday afternoon at St. Vincent Hospital of Harold E. West, 66. He died following a long illness.
Services will be Friday t 7:30 p.m. in Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday at the West Ranch on the Madrid Highway.
A resident of New Mexico since 1920, West and his family lived some 20 years on a ranch south of town. Two of his sons still live there.
Dec. 4, 1993: The Santa Fe High Demons win their first basketball game after an 0-24 season last year. The sellout game at St. Michael’s High School marked the first head coaching victory for David Rodriguez.
