Massachusetts courts participate in National Adoption Day
HADLEY, Mass. (AP) — More than 100 children were formally adopted in five courthouses across Massachusetts as part of the 13th annual National Adoption Day.
The event is aimed at raising awareness of the thousands of Massachusetts children in need of adoptive families.
Children and their adoptive families participated in ceremonies at courthouses Friday in Hadley, Brockton, Pittsfield, Boston and Worcester.
National Adoption Day is one of several projects supported by the Massachusetts Court Improvement Program, a federally funded program administered by the Supreme Judicial Court.
