Oaktree reveals upgrades
HAMLIN TWP. — Oaktree Academy will be able to offer childcare services to more area families than ever, thanks to a recent partnership with Gilden Woods Early Care and Preschool — a private developmental childcare company.
The academy hosted a grand re-opening and open house to celebrate the completion of renovations Friday at the former South Hamlin Elementary School at 6498 Decker Road.
Three state-of-the-art rooms were renovated as a result of the partnership and several upgrades were made throughout the building, which will allow the academy to expand its enrollment and services to more infants to children in fifth grade and younger.
The academy currently has more than 50 enrollees, with more to come, according to Brianna Ayers, a Gilden Woods school support specialist who has been working full-time at the academy during the renovation period.
“We now have 55 full-time enrollments, and that’s gone up by 10 just in the last two months,” Ayers said during the re-opening ceremony. “Now, we’ll be able to add at least 40 more children.”
