Bullhead City man indicted on charges of assaulting girlfriend, son
KINGMAN — A Bullhead City man was indicted Thursday for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend and their son.
A Mohave County grand jury indicted Jonah Miguel Ramos, 45, on three counts of aggravated assault, child abuse and misdemeanor criminal damage. He is expected to be arraigned on the charges Jan. 7. His case will be heard before Superior Court Judge Rick Lambert.
Police officers responded to a house on Dec. 16 in the 2800 block of Colibri Court for a domestic violence dispute. Ramos allegedly pointed two knives at his girlfriend, threatening to kill her. He also destroyed items in the apartment in a fit of rage, Bullhead City police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said.
Ramos also allegedly struck the victim as she was holding their 4-month-old son, also hitting the infant on the top of the head. A neighbor intervened, pointing a gun at Ramos and ordering him to leave. The girlfriend and the baby were taken to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Ramos fled the apartment and was quickly arrested. He was booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman, where he is being held on a $20,000 bond, Fromelt said.
