Football | Packers fall short at Northfield
NORTHFIELD — The Austin Packers put up a good fight on Friday in a Big Southeast crossover game at Northfield, but the Raiders kept the pressure on and ultimately claimed a 36-20 victory.
Northfield grabbed a quick 7-0 lead, but the Packers evened the score with a 14-play, 90-yard drive capped by Nate Murphy’s 22-yard touchdown run on fourth-and-goal.
The Raiders scored the next 16 points, but again Murphy responded, this time with a 21-yard pass to Andrew Schumacher. That duo would later connect again for a 25-yard TD, but it was too little, too late as the Packers fell to 1-4.
