Let’s Eat honors Huntington with a variety of wraps
One of the unique lunch spots in town, Let’s Eat serves up a one-of-a-kind wrap called a “Naanada,” which is served on Indian naan bread.
Owner Janet McCormick operated a restaurant called The Tea Room Cafe in Proctorville, Ohio, before establishing Let’s Eat in 2012. Since opening, McCormick has also become something of a local TV fixture with weekly appearances on WSAZ’s “First Look at Four.” While Let’s Eat is primarily known for catering, it serves up lunch Mondays through Fridays.
“Our Naanadas are a kind of a cross between an Italian piada and a Greek gyro but served on naan bread. I do three different sauces for the different Naanadas. There’s an Italian sauce, a Greek and a pesto,” McCormick explained.
The names are all tied to buildings around Huntington. Let’s Eat features “The Frederick,” which has roasted chicken; the “Keith” has steak; “The Prichard” has ham and salami, while “The Morris” has caramelized broccoli plus seasonal veggies. They are all $6.99.
For $7.50 there’s “The Carnegie,” which has smoked salmon. For those who enjoy a more traditional sandwich there’s “The Heritage,” which is also priced at $6.99 and features chicken salad served on a croissant.
Customers can cool off with a fruit-infused water or home-brewed iced tea. There is a combination special that includes a Naanada, a side along with a drink for $10.99.
Any sandwich or wrap can be turned into a bowl without bread for customers on lowcarb diets and special dietary needs.
“We have salads. There’s a spinach salad, the Athena Greek salad and pasta salad. In the fall months, I usually do a salad that incorporates a sort of pumpkin spice vinaigrette and fresh apples. When the weather gets colder, we usually offer a couple of different soups,” McCormick said.
“When I first came here, I didn’t think people would order sides because our wraps are so large. They actually sell very well. We also offer bread pudding for dessert, which was a favorite at the Tea Room Cafe.”
Side items include homemade olive tapenade hummus, pasta salad and broccoli cheddar soup.
