Boston man gets 8 years for arson fires targeting girlfriend

April 13, 2016

BOSTON (AP) — A Boston man has been sentenced to eight years in prison for setting fires in Chelsea and Everett that targeted his girlfriend.

Prosecutors say 35-year-old Alfred Jordan was also sentenced to five years of probation after pleading guilty to multiple counts of arson as well as attempted murder and assault and battery.

Prosecutors say the incident began on March 28, 2013, after a night of domestic violence between Jordan and his girlfriend. The woman fled to a mutual friend’s apartment in Chelsea, which Jordan later attempted to set on fire.

After hearing that his girlfriend had left, Jordan then went to another friend’s home in Everett and set it on fire after she didn’t answer his calls.

Jordan was seen by witnesses at both locations.
