The following preliminary hearings are scheduled before District Judge Susan Mankamyer in Boswell:

Driving under the influence

Joshua Matse, 37, School Avenue, Jerome, was charged Jan. 16 with two counts of driving under the influence and three summary offenses. According to a probable-cause affidavit, at about 10 p.m. Dec. 30 state police stopped a vehicle driven by Matse along Penn Avenue near Boswell for multiple traffic violations. Matse had a blood alcohol content of 0.18 percent, according to the affidavit. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. Feb. 20.Brian Nicholson, 50, Million Dollar Highway, Jenner Township, was charged Jan. 14 with three counts of driving under the influence, false identification to police, intentional possession of a controlled substance by a person not registered, marijuana possession and four summary offenses. According to a probable-cause affidavit, at about 9:10 p.m. Dec. 21 state police stopped a vehicle driven by Nicholson along Million Dollar Highway in Jenner Township for a burnt-out headlight. Nicholson allegedly gave a false name to an officer and had marijuana and methamphetamine in the vehicle. A blood test showed Nicholson had marijuana and meth in his system at the time of the stop, according to the affidavit. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:45 p.m. Feb. 20.William Askey, 76, McKenzie Drive, Pittsburgh, was charged Jan. 14 with two counts of driving under the influence and four summary offenses. According to a probable-cause affidavit, at about 4:40 p.m. Aug. 12 Askey wrecked a vehicle into a utility pole and road sign along Route 30 in Jennerstown Borough. Askey had a blood alcohol content of 0.17 percent, according to the affidavit. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Feb. 20.
