2 adults, juvenile held after raid at Tennessee Avenue residence

September 18, 2018

Two adults and a juvenile were arrested Tuesday after a raid at a Tennessee Avenue residence where citizens had reported people carrying guns and shots being fired from inside and outside, Fort Wayne police said tonight.

Jermorris Sewell and Tamira Morgan, both 35, of the 1000 block of Tennessee, were charged with maintaining a common nuisance, neglect of a dependent and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, city police said in a statement. They said a juvenile boy was charged with dangerous possession of a firearm.

Police said about 9:30 a.m., detectives with the police Gang and Violent Crimes Unit, along with members of the Emergency Services Team, served a search warrant at the residence following an investigation that lasted several weeks.

During the service of the warrant, detectives located evidence and paraphernalia associated with marijuana use, police said. They said they recovered a loaded 9mm handgun, which had recently been reported stolen, as well as a .223-caliber assault rifle from the property.
