Gannett Names Two New Publishers
ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) _ Gannett Co. Inc. appointed new publishers Monday for its newspapers in Honolulu and Sioux Falls, S.D.
Lawrence Fuller, 51, takes over as The Honolulu Advertiser’s publisher and president of the Hawaii Newspaper Agency.
Mary Devish, 36, becomes president and publisher of the Argus Leader at Sioux Falls, succeeding Fuller. Devish previously was controller at the paper.
Fuller joined Gannett in 1977 as executive editor of the Argus Leader and was named publisher in 1978. In 1984, he was named president of Gannett New Media Services and later director of corporate communications. He returned to Sioux Falls as publisher in 1986 and was named regional vice president in 1988, the same year he was named Gannett’s outstanding publisher.
Gannett is a nationwide news and information company that publishes 83 daily newspapers, including USA Today.
