E. Michigan 111, San Francisco St. 61
YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) _ Brian Tolbert scored the game’s first six points with a pair of 3-point shots as Eastern Michigan led throughout to beat San Francisco State 111-61 on Monday night.
A student protest over the arrest of a black student by a white campus police officer last month delayed the start of the second half for 45 minutes. The spectators were sent home before the game resumed.
Tolbert finished with 18 points and Jon Zajac and Derrick Dial added 15 each for the Eagles (4-0), who led 58-28 at halftime.
Kenny Evans scored 11 points and Maceo Campbell and Ricky Croy had 10 apiece for the Gators (1-6).
Eastern Michigan shot 43-of-76 (.566) from the field, while San Francisco State was 23-of-64 (.359). The Eagles also outrebounded the Gators, 48-31.
