Schnucks, Walmart customers can donate to hurricane relief

September 17, 2018

DeKALB – Thousands of people affected by Hurricane Florence probably could use your spare change. That’s why Schnuck’s and Walmart are doing campaigns that are sending relief to the thousands of people seeking refuge in Red Cross and community shelters.

That includes the local Schnuck’s at 975 S. Annie Glidden Road and Walmart at 2300 Sycamore Road, both in DeKalb.

At Schnuck’s, through Saturday, customers can round up their total to the next dollar, according to a news release, but you can’t do so at self-checkout registers. The release said 100 percent of the funds will go to the American Red Cross’ Hurricane Florence Disaster Relief Fund.

For every dollar donated at Walmart registers through Friday, the company’s 2018 Hurricane Relief Fund at Foundation for the Carolinas will donate $2, up to $5 million, according to a news release.
