Drug Take Back
Thirty minutes before the program was to close at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, organizers of the National Prescription Drug Take Back Event said the total of bagged drugs was slightly above average. The Katy Independent School District Police Department partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration to collect from the public potentially dangerous, expired, unused and unwanted prescription medications and over-the-counter medicines. The four-hour event was held at the Mark L. Hopkins Law Enforcement Center, 20370 Franz Road in Katy. Visit www.dea.gov for more information. The Katy ISD Police Department sponsors the take-back event twice a year.
