Two Rescued After Scaffold Breaks
IRVING, Texas (AP) _ Firefighters rappelled down a 12-story office building Thursday to rescue two window workers who were stranded on a broken scaffold more than 100 feet off the ground.
The men, who were not immediately identified, were caught for about two hours Thursday morning after the center of their scaffold buckled, officials said.
The scaffold had been suspended from the roof of the Waterway Tower and became stuck at about the 11th floor, officials said.
Firefighters rappelled down the side of the tower to reach the workers, then lowered the workers to the ground.
The men were part of a crew that has been working on the building’s windows for about three months, officials said.
