Fun field trip: Camp teaches kids to step outside comfort zone
MEARS — It’s that time of year once again where dozens of eighth-grade students from O.J. DeJonge Middle School head to camp for a week filled with activities, experiences and opportunities to step outside their comfort zones.
The camp takes place every year for five days and four nights at Grace Adventures in Mears.
Camp director J.R. Schoon said the purpose of the camp is to introduce kids to new friends and activities they may otherwise be afraid to try.
