Police seek suspect who shot into empty car after argument
HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — Police in a south Mississippi city are investigating a road rage incident that ended with bullets being fired into an empty car in a restaurant parking lot.
Hattiesburg police tell local media that the incident happened just after noon Monday.
Investigators say a car cut off a minivan on Interstate 59, and that occupants of both vehicles had a verbal fight after leaving the interstate.
Police say the driver of the minivan then drove off. After the car’s occupants went inside a restaurant, police say the minivan driver returned to the parking lot and fired two shots into the empty car, one in a window and one in a door.
No one was injured. Police are asking people with information to contact them at 601-544-7900.
