LA CROSSE, Wis. -- Rheta Verona (Justin) Rogneby, 84, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 12, 2018, at her home in La Crosse after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Rheta was born Dec. 27, 1933, in Fountain City, Wis., and was the daughter of Sylvester and Olivia (Duellman) Justin. She married Glenn Rogneby Oct. 15, 1955, in Fountain City.

Rheta loved planning family celebrations. She treasured time with her family and enjoyed gardening, cooking, crafts, playing dominoes and attending weekly Mass. Rheta will always be remembered as a loving friend to all who knew her. Rheta and Glenn were inseparable and did everything together.

Rheta will be dearly missed by her husband, Glenn, of La Crosse; her three daughters, Nancy (Ralph) Sangpeal of Richmond, Va., Barbara (Darrell) Anderson of Plainview, Minn., and Sandra Lamprey of Milford, Conn.; her five grandchildren, Matthew (Mandy), Katie, Aaron, Christa and Bethany; her great-granddaughter, Caroline; her sister, Simone Heitman of Fountain City; and her brother, Donald Justin of Winona.

Rheta was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Gerald Justin.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church in Trempealeau, Wis., with a luncheon to follow. The visitation will precede the service from 9 to 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Gundersen Hospice or Gundersen Medical Foundation. Zwickey Funeral Homes, Galesville Chapel is assisting the family.
