French-born winger Novillo extends A-League contract
MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — French-born winger Harry Novillo has extended his short-term contract with the A-League’s Melbourne City by two years.
The 23-year-old Novillo and former under-17 and under-19 player for France joined City in March on a short-term deal as a replacement for injured veteran Damien Duff, who has since left the club to return home to Ireland.
Novillo, who has also played internationally for Martinique, scored three times in 10 appearances with the Melbourne side, including eight starts.
City coach John van ’t Schip says “Harry was an important player and contributor for us in the final three months of the season and illustrated his value to the team during that period.”
City lost to Melbourne rivals and eventual league champion Victory in the A-League semifinals.
