Shirley L. Radtke
Shirley L. Radtke, 87, of Watertown, passed away Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, at Park Ridge in Watertown surrounded by loving family.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Todd Iverson officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown immediately following the service.

Shirley LaVerne Zwieg was born June 29, 1931, in Watertown, daughter of Arthur and Viola (nee Schramm) Zwieg. She attended Webster Elementary, Watertown Junior High School and Oconomowoc High School. She married Harvey A. Radtke on Nov. 14, 1948, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Sugar Island. She was employed at Mimi’s Hallmark and worked as a secretary at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon. Shirley’s passion was genealogy and family history, which culminated in the compiling of the book “Branching Out in the U.S.A.: Zwieg Family History.” She was a charter member of the Watertown Genealogical Society and the Lebanon Historical Society. She was also a member of the Ashippun and Lebanon Fireman’s Auxiliaries. Most of all, Shirley loved spending time with family and friends, as well as playing (especially winning at) bingo.
Shirley is survived by her children, Janice (Alan) Schmidt of Watertown, Joyce (Richard) Daevel, also of Watertown, and James (Mary) Radtke of Menomonee Falls; grandchildren, Carmen (Matthew) Schaller, Carrie (Casey) Helke, Nicole (Joshua) Kueffer, Daniel Radtke and Rachel Radtke; seven great-grandchildren, Meredith, Ronin, Finley, Balin, Felicity, Riya and Gideon; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Isaac and Amari; sister, Sharon (Edwin) De Coto; special friend, Betty Knutson; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; stepgrandson, Brian Daevel; parents; sister, Gwen (Howard) Braunschweig; brother, Roger (Iris) Zwieg; and lifelong friend Betty Huebner.
Shirley’s family wishes to thank the caring staff at Park Ridge, as well as Marquardt Hospice, with special thanks to Meghan, Denise and Melinda.
