TRENTON _ A federal report says a viral outbreak that killed 11 children at a New Jersey nursing home was made worse because those in charge didn’t plan for such an outbreak and didn’t react fast enough. The Record reports the pediatric medical director of the Wanaque Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation didn’t know how many children were infected or what his job entailed at the time of the outbreak last fall. _ NJ TRANSIT-POSITIVE TRAIN CONTROL _ New Jersey Transit has received official approval for a two-year extension to finish implementing a required emergency braking system on its trains and tracks.

_ EX-GIRLFRIENDS SLAIN _ A man convicted of murdering two ex-girlfriends and the new boyfriend of one of them has been sentenced to 190 years in prison.

_ CHLD PORN-ADMINISTRATOR _ A man who was an administrator for multiple chat rooms where child pornography was shared and discussed on an instant messaging application has been sentenced to nearly six years in prison.

_ PARKWAY-MAN FATALLY STRUCK _ State police say a man walking along the Garden State Parkway was struck and killed by an SUV in southern New Jersey.

_ CRASH-CHILD KILLED _ Authorities say a fiery two-vehicle crash in southern New Jersey has left an adult and a child dead.
