ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) _ Anaheim outfielder Matt Luke was placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with a partially-torn oblique muscle in his right side.

Luke, the 10th Angel currently on the DL, injured himself making a throw Friday night against Oakland.

Luke, who missed the first two months of the season with a left-side injury, was batting .438 in eight games since his return.

To take his roster spot, the Angels recalled left-hander Mike Holtz from Triple-A Edmonton.

The Angels also said that starter Tim Belcher sustained a fracture of his right small finger when making a tag play at the plate in Saturday night's game against Oakland.

Belcher covered home at the end of a rundown of the A's Ryan Christenson, who barreled into him in an attempt to dislodge the ball. Belcher held onto the ball for the out, and returned to take his warmup pitches before the fifth inning, but walked off the field before making a pitch.

The Angels will not make a decision on Belcher's status until he is examined Monday by hand specialist Dr. Norman Zemel.
