Virginia man gets prison for driving after DUI
A Virginia man was sentenced to prison Wednesday for a felony charge of driving while his license was revoked following a DUI.
Carl H. Dooley, 42, was sentenced in Gage County District Court after requesting to not be sentenced to probation because he didn’t think he would successfully complete it.
Instead, Judge Rick Schreiner sentenced Dooley to 18 months in prison followed by 12 months of post release supervision, which is similar to probation.
Dooley was also fined $100 for an open container violation.
He was arrested in late January after driving a motor vehicle during a 15-year license revocation following a DUI in 2004.
Dooley also had an open container of alcohol in the vehicle at the time.
