Candlelight Christmas home tours set Dec. 15
SPRING CITY-- Several historic and traditional homes in Spring City are set to offer Candlelight Christmas Home Tours on Saturday, Dec. 15, from 4-7 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at the Spring City Community Center, 45 South 100 East, or at any of the homes on the tour, with correct change in cash or check.
Participants in the home tours will enjoy charming Christmas décor, traditional and pioneer-era homes, a reception and “Christmas Miniature Collection” art sale at the Spring City Community Center, complete with live music, hot cider, and wagon rides as part of the fun.
The art sale is completely different from any art sale previously offered because artworks are small original paintings created by Spring City artists only at Christmas time and specially priced for the season. The paintings make perfect gifts for special friends and loved ones.
Homes currently part of the Candlelight Christmas Home Tours include:
Chris and Alison Anderson home (Jacob Johnson original owner), 390 South 100 West; J. Scott Anderson home (Charles Crawforth farmhouse, two miles south of town on Crawford Lane); Paul and Donna Penrod home (Andrew Olsen original owner), 90 South 100 West; David Rosier Granary Studio (Iver Peterson original owner), 309 North Main Street; Steve and Marta Sloan home, Springfarm House, 50 East Center Street; Dane and Barbara Chapman home, Osborne Inn, 216 South Main Street; Stan and Gwen Soper home, 127 North 200 West; along with possible additional homes.
This new tradition has been organized by The Friends of Historic Spring City in an effort to spread Christmas cheer and earn funds for the community center.
