SCOTTVILLE — Student enrollment at the Mason County Central School District has increased for the first time in years, and MCC Superintendent Jeff Mount said it’s a relief to see an increase in students during the first few weeks of school.
“Really, we started upticking a little bit last year in the spring with a better number, and we had struggled with that (in the past),” Mount told MCC school board Monday during a review of the enrollment data from the start of the 2018-19 school year. The review was in preparation for fall count day, when enrollment figures that will determine the amount of funding the district receives for the year will be tallied.
