No homicide charge against Kensington woman in deadly driving lesson

A Kensington woman who was teaching her teenage daughter to drive won’t be charged with the June deaths of two men struck by an SUV driven by the girl, a judge ruled Tuesday.

Municipal Court Judge Karen Yvette Simmons dropped charges of homicide by vehicle and involuntary manslaughter against Stephanie Hernandez, 32, who had been charged in July after allowing her 15-year-old daughter to drive her vehicle, which led to the fatal accident in the Aramingo Village shopping center parking lot in Port Richmond.
