Odubel Herrera, Phillies outfielder, arrested for domestic violence

Philadelphia Phillies center fielder Odubel Herrera was arrested in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Monday night following a domestic incident with his girlfriend.

Herrera, 27, was charged with simple assault after officers reportedly found his girlfriend, who is 20, with”visible signs of injury to her arms and neck that was sustained after being assaulted by her boyfriend.”

Major League Baseball placed Herrera on administrative leave while its investigation of the incident is ongoing, in accordance with the domestic violence policy.
