LaCenterra celebrates the season
A large crowd attending the annual tree-lighting ceremony at LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch had perfect weather for the holiday event, said Diana Elkins, marketing director.
“In addition to Santa’s arrival and lighting of the new tree, there were life-sized snow globes to take pictures in, a petting zoo, family activities, inflatables and strolling carolers,” she added.
More events are scheduled at the center located at 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd.
Santa is ready to greet visitors from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon-6 on Sundays through Christmas Eve.
People with pets are invited to bring their dogs or cats to pose with Santa for pictures from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 3 and Dec. 10, said Elkins.
The center also has planned a Santa Cares sensory-friendly photo session for families of children with special needs. These photos with Santa will be 10-11:30 a.m. Dec. 2 and Dec. 9.
Residents also are invited to participate in the center’s first Stroll of the Season from 4-8 p.m. on Dec. 8. The evening will include music by the Level One Band from 6-8 p.m. and strolling performers. Shoppers can be photographed inside a life-size snow globe and visit Santa. They also can pick up a shopping passport, event map and shopping bag. After they visit a store on the passport, an employee from that store will stamp their passport. Once they have 10 stamps, they can take the completed passport to the information booth at Alamo Drafthouse to register for prizes from LaCenterra merchants. Shoppers don’t need to be present to win.
