Edna Joyce Knipe

1933-2018

Joyce Knipe our beloved Mom, grandma, great-grandma and great great grandma passed to be with her sweetheart Jim on July 10th 2018. Joyce was born in Salt Lake to William E. and Edna L Stedman on February 26th 1933. She grew up in Midvale graduating Jordan high in 1951. She moved to California to live with extended family to work at Southern Cal. phone company and entered UCLA where she met and married James, our beloved grandpa, in 1952. They lived in the Englewood area for 4 years had one daughter Mary Jo and then moved to Utah County where they lived and raised their family. Joyce taught Sunday school and primary classes in young women’s groups and relief society, she also was a Cub Scout Den Leader coach for 12 years. She was loved by many for her willingness and good cheer she always said there was not a person she knew that she didn’t like. Joyce leaves behind, for now, her 4 children Jami (Scott) Selman of Springville, Shawna (Alan) Bjarnson of Orem, JoHanna (Steve) Carter of Bluffdale and Jimmy Knipe of Mesquite. She leaves behind one sister Darlene Ray of Sandy many nieces and nephews 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and Kaesin her great great grandson. All of which were loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her to husband James of 66 years, a daughter Mary Jo, her parents 5 brothers and a 2 sisters. Mom, Grandma we love you so much your happy spirit and big heart will be missed….. Until we see you and gramps again we will keep you close in our hearts… Muah! Services for both Joyce and Jim will be held on July 28th at the Grandview 13th ward chapel 1260 West 1150 North PROVO, Utah @ noon.
