Nelsonville Music Festival takes place from June 6-9

NELSONVILLE, Ohio — Stuart’s Opera House is ready to kic off the 15th annual Nelsonville Music Festival Thursday through Sunday, June 6-9, at Robbins Crossing on the campus of Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio.

The four days of music feature bands on multiple stages along with camping, kids’ activities, artisan vendors, food, beer garden and more. Weekend passes for all four days are on sale now for $170 (with no fees), and the price will go up as we get closer to the festival weekend. Weekend passes for Nelsonville residents and teens are $85, and kids 12 and under are free. Camping passes and VIP weekend passes to the festival are also on sale now. This year’s lineup includes Death Cab for Cutie, Mavis Staples, Tyler Childers, The Breeders, The Wood Brothers, Mandolin Orange, Thee Oh Sees, Todd Snider, Allah-Las, The War and Treaty, Flor de Toloache, Bully, Darlingside, Julia Jacklin, The Coathangers, Town Mountain, Molly Burch, Michael Hurley, Mattson 2, JJUUJJUU, The Brother Brothers, Death Valley Girls, Steve Poltz, Laura Gibson, Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters, Orkesta Mendoza, The Huntress & Holder of Hands, Campdogzz, The National Reserve, NOTS, Sun June, Skyway Man, Hubby Jenkins, Early James & The Latest, The Cordial Sins, Ernie Johnson From Detroit, The Other Years, Mourning [A] BLKstar, Water Witches, WYD, The Katy, Radattack, Streetlamps for Spotlights, The T-Mart Rounders and Weedghost. The Nelsonville Music Festival is a production of Stu art’s Opera House, a historic, nonprofit theater located in Nelsonville that features over 75 events a year including live music, theater, films, educational programming and more. All proceeds raised at the festival go back into Stuart’s and its Arts Education programs.

Catch live music on multiple stages: NMF features a main stage, a porch stage, an intimate No-Fi Cabin featuring artists performing with no electricity, and a free boxcar stage with music performed from an old train car turned into a stage backdrop and mural.

The Nelsonville Music Festival hopes to have a positive impact on its community and environment and is considerd a zero waste event, diverting over 92% of the waste created at the festival from the landfill in 2018 with recycling and composting.

All kids 12 and under are free and the festival features a huge kids area with activities all weekend. The AV Club and Ohio Magazine have named NMF as the “Best Music Festival in Ohio,” and Time Out Chicago has called it “one of the Midwest’s best festivals.”

Past performers have included Wilco, The Flaming Lips, Willie Nelson, Ween, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Loretta Lynn, Gillian Welch, John Prine, The Avett Brothers, They Might Be Giants, Randy Newman, Merle Haggard, Iron & Wine, Yo La Tengo, George Jones, Emmylou Harris, Courtney Barnett, The Decemberists, and many more.
