PHOENIX (AP) _ Jeremy Roenick scored three goals for the second straight night to lead the Phoenix Coyotes to a 7-0 victory over the Colorado Avalanche on Friday night.

Roenick, who started the scoring spree Thursday night in a victory over New Jersey, has eight points in the two games. He leads the Coyotes with 14 goals in 18 games.

Keith Tkachuk also scored twice against the Avalanche, and Greg Adams and Shane Doan each added goals as the Coyotes extended their winning streak to five games.

Goalie Sean Burke won his second game in his second start since being obtained from Florida in a Nov. 19 trade. Burke made 28 saves for his 20th career shutout.

Roenick scored 18:47 into the first period off a feed from Dallas Drake. Roenick faked goalie Patrick Roy to the ice, slid to Roy’s right and flipped in the puck.

Tkachuk made it 2-0 with a power-play goal 4:41 into the second period. Teppo Numminen fired a shot from the left circle that was redirected in by Tkachuk.

Roenick’s second goal came on a 2-on-1 rush with Tkachuk 13:12 into the second period. Tkachuk pushed a pass across the slot to Roenick, who beat Roy with a high shot.

The Coyotes made it 4-0 when Tkachuk tipped in a shot by Numminen on a power play with 11:35 remaining. Adams scored on a slap shot with 7:25 left. Roenick got his third goal with 6:01 left on a pass from Tkachuk, and Doan completed the scoring.

Colorado, 1-4-1 in its last six, is expected to have star forward Peter Forsberg back in the lineup Saturday night in Calgary. Forsberg, who underwent shoulder surgery in June, has not played this season.
