Business program agreement will allow expanded opportunities

May 16, 2019

DIXON – Sauk Valley Community College is partnering with Ashford University to expand opportunities for students in the college’s business program to earn a bachelor’s degree.

The agreement allows students with an associate in applied science degree in management, marketing or accounting to take a third year of classes at Sauk and then finish their fourth year at Ashford to receive a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

“This is a cost effective way for students to pursue a Bachelor’s degree locally, by commuting to Ashford’s Clinton campus one day a week for their fourth year,” said Josh West, Sauk’s dean of business, career, and technical programs.

Students can also choose to take their fourth year of classes online rather than make the commute.

“Ashford University has had a long standing partnership with Sauk Valley Community College, and this agreement will allow us to strengthen that partnership by helping Sauk Valley students meet their academic and professional goals,” said Charlie Minnick, Ashford University’s Clinton Campus President.
