Vidado Elevates Elaine Zhou to Chief Technology Officer

May 7, 2019

OAKLAND, Calif., May 07, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Vidado, a provider of intelligent automation (IA) solutions to the insurance, financial services, and pharmaceutical industries, is pleased to announce the promotion of Elaine Zhou to Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Zhou’s transition from SVP of Engineering to CTO acknowledges the increasing sophistication of Vidado’s customer base and recognition of a desire to collaborate on successful technical strategies. Zhou has distinguished herself through an ability to translate Vidado’s technically-complex platform into tangible business value for customers. In her new role, she will be spending more time with Vidado’s largest customers helping to refine technical strategies, while also keeping Vidado at the forefront of applied artificial intelligence (AI).

“Vidado is at a breakthrough stage of growth,” said Zhou. “As CTO, I will continue to set Vidado’s technology and product vision by working even closer with our customers to make sure our technology strategy best serves their objectives. In addition, I will continue to own technical strategy, the engineering roadmap, the platform, and technical design direction, as well as our development and delivery methodology. Above all, my most important responsibility continues to be to hire, build, mentor, and develop the great technical team we have at Vidado.”

Zhou has extensive experience developing and bringing cutting-edge enterprise software to market, and she has held a variety of positions with increasing responsibility over the last 25 years, working with everything from banking technology to social networks. Zhou is a frequent speaker on the topic of women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), and women in engineering. She also volunteers as a mentor for Upwardly Global, helping immigrant professionals with similar backgrounds to her own find appropriate positions that can benefit from the unique contributions, experience, skills, and education of such individuals.

“Elaine brings not only her technical expertise and the full technical history of the company to our customer conversations, she brings the empathy we always strive to deliver to our customers to solve their most pressing business challenges,” said Nowell Outlaw, CEO of Vidado. “As use cases for intelligent automation continue to emerge, there is a window in which we can help our customers gain competitive advantage by improving their customer and prospect engagement. This advantage is delivered through better insight derived from better utilization of their data. Vidado, led by Elaine’s efforts, builds the AI that helps the enterprises we work with capitalize on these opportunities.”
