SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) _ Mick Jagger's raspy voice gave out, forcing the Rolling Stones to cancel tonight's concert on short notice.

The band's front man came down with laryngitis, and after Jagger saw a throat specialist the band decided the show in Syracuse shouldn't go on.

About 27,000 of the 39,000 seats at the Carrier Dome were sold for the concert, part of the band's ``Bridges to Babylon'' tour. Stadium officials hoped to reschedule the show for the spring, and fans were urged to hold on to their tickets. However, ticket holders seeking refunds can get them beginning on Friday.

Jagger performed Monday at the Stones' concert in Quebec City, said concert promoter Michel Brazeau.
