Sex Offender Due Evaluation

March 13, 2019

SCRANTON

A Scranton man who pleaded guilty to soliciting sex from a person he believed to be a teenager will receive a mental health evaluation before being sentenced.

Jared F. Kilonsky, 30, 1344 St. Ann’s St., entered his plea in December. He appeared before Lackawanna County President Judge Michael Barrasse on Tuesday.

In April, detectives online assumed the identity of a 15-year-old boy and messaged back and forth with Kilonsky. They later arrested him in Scranton.

His lawyer argued Tuesday that Kilonsky never received help for mental health issues and that his IQ is that of a teenager.

Barrasse ordered a mental health evaluation before Kilonsky is sentenced.
