Rock Hill senior Victor Aguilera a two-sport weapon

August 21, 2018

A soccer player kicking for the high school football team isn’t terribly unusual, but one making 50-yard-plus field goals is.

Victor Aguilera, a senior who led Rock Hill’s boys soccer team to the Ohio Valley Conference championship last season, has been impressive kicking and punting with the Redmen this preseason. Aguilera will handle punts, kickoffs and long field goals while Brady Floyd will take care of shorter field goals and extra points.

“Victor had never punted a ball before and our coaches were showing him how to handle the ball,” Rock Hill coach Mark Lutz said. “He kicked it and it went about 30 yards. I told him to handle the ball however he wanted. He kicked it again and it went 67.”

A native of Honduras, Aguilera figures to be a weapon not only in soccer, but in football.
