Darlington police charge suspect in two shootings

DARLINGTON, S.C. -- Darlington police have charged a suspect in two shootings that took place late last week.

Alfred Andre Richardson Samuel, 31, was arrested by officers and charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession of a stolen pistol and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in connection with the Dec. 6 shooting at 102 Lamar Highway, according to a release issued by the agency.

He is also charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in connection with a shooting on Dec. 7 at the intersection of Syracuse and West Broad Streets, according to a release issued by the agency.

“More arrests are pending in connection with both incidents,” Capt. Kimberly Nelson wrote in a release on the arrests.

The Darlington Police Department is asking anyone with any information about these incidents to please contact the department at 843-398-4026. The incidents are still under investigation.
