Ex-NFL Player Dardar Arrested

November 15, 1997

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) _ Former LSU star Ramsey Dardar, whose career with the former St. Louis Cardinals was cut short by injuries and cocaine, has been arrested a third time for burglary.

Dardar, 38, has served two prison terms for burglary. He was released from prison in March after serving most of a six-year sentence for burglary and possessing stolen things.

Dardar was held on $15,000 bond after his arrest Thursday on charges including burglary and injuring a police dog, Baton Rouge Police Cpl. Don Kelly said.

He said Dardar was caught after a woman stopped a K-9 officer to say she had just seen a man breaking into a shed shortly before midnight Thursday.

The bag held things stolen from a nearby shed, Kelly said.

Dardar was a defensive tackle for LSU from 1980 to 1982 and played three years with the Cardinals when they were in St. Louis.
