Navy 74, Gettysburg 41

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) _ Josh Williams, who had played only 24 minutes this season, scored 13 points and Navy beat Gettysburg 74-41 Saturday to snap a three-game losing streak.

The loss was the third straight for Gettysburg, which opened the season with five straight victories.

The Bullets took their only lead of the game, 19-17, with 7:28 remaining. The Midshipmen (4-5) tied it on two free throws by Matt Sladky 14 seconds later.

Sitapha Sivane, Chris Williams and John Williams then combined for 13 points over the final seven minutes of the first half as Navy pulled away to a 33-23 halftime lead.

A layup by John Williams put Navy on top for good at 6:38. Savane added with a layup 28 seconds later, then John Williams hit a 3-pointer to make it 26-19.

Gettysburg’s Jon Bowman snapped the drought with a 3-pointer at 4:49, but a layup by Savane, a jumper from Chris Williams, a free throw from Skip Victor and a dunk by Savane closed the half.

Josh Williams scored 10 points in the second half before coming out with 11:32 remaining and the Middies on top 51-30.

John Williams finished with nine points and Chris Williams had eight. Victor, the only Middie to play more than 20 minutes, had a career-high nine rebounds.

Bowman, Ryan Napp and Kevin Carroll each had six points for Gettysburg.
