Misericordia University Holds Winter Commencement Ceremony

Misericordia University’s Eighth Annual Winter Commencement Ceremony will recognized 280 graduates from 11 states, including Connecticut, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota and Texas. Mary Dana Hinton, Ph.D., president of the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota, delivered the keynote address. Hinton is the former associate vice-president of academic affairs at Misericordia University, serving in that capacity from 2006 to 2011. She joined Misericordia’s academic community as an assistant professor of religious studies and as coordinator of multicultural student affairs during the 2006-07 academic year. Hinton earned a Ph.D. in religion and religious education from Fordham University, a Master of Arts degree in clinical child psychology from the University of Kansas and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Williams College. Misericordia University presented her with an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree during the ceremony.
