Mississippi teen reported missing found safe
STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) — A Mississippi teen reported missing earlier this week has been found safe.
News outlets report that 18-year-old Geniya Jackson was reported missing Tuesday after entering a wooded area near Oktibbeha County that afternoon. Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Lt. Brett Watson tells The Commercial Dispatch that Jackson was found unharmed and is now safe with her family.
Watson says the department received a report Tuesday night that Jackson had hitchhiked into Starkville. Watson says one of Jackson’s family members found her in Starkville later that night. It’s unclear why Jackson was headed to Starkville.
