Council to discuss construction contract for Main Street
MORRISON – City Council members will continue their progress on the engineering and planning stages for the Main Street construction project at tonight’s meeting.
They will discuss and possibly vote on a preliminary/construction engineering services agreement with Willett Hofmann and Associates. The majority of the work for the extensive Main Street project will be done in the planning phases this year, with actual construction beginning next year.
Council members also will revisit a proposed ordinance governing solar farms in the city with regulations on size and other issues. Permit fees will accompany anyone looking to establish a solar farm and the amount of the fee will be determined by size of the proposed solar farm.
City Administrator Barry Dykhuizen also will continue his budget updates for the council as the fiscal year draws to a close on April 30. Council members will review the proposed FY 2019-20 budget at a time and date to be set at tonight’s meeting.
Another item on the agenda is a resolution of support and commitment of local funds. The city likely will pursue funds through a USDA redevelopment grant.
Council members also will discuss road paving on Hazel and Bishop roads and listen to a presentation on a local daycare facility. The Morrison Farmers Market at French Creek Park also is on the agenda.
