DeKalb ag association fundraiser Tuesday at Egyptian Theatre
DeKALB – The DeKalb Area Agriculture Heritage Association invites the community to an evening of networking, inspiration, food and fun Tuesday at the Egyptian Theatre, 135 N. Second St.
The fundraiser, An Evening with Innovators: Sharing Today’s and Tomorrow’s Innovations in Food Systems, will benefit the DAAHA, and includes a cash bar, silent auction and a fireside panel discussion.
Panelists include Natalie Shmulik, chief executive officer of The Hatchery in Chicago, which is a food business incubator; Kimberlee Kidwell, dean of the University of Illinois’ college of agricultural, consumer and environmental sciences; Scott Shearer, chairman of Ohio State Univeristy’s department of food, agricultural, and biological engineering; and Nick Nagele, owner of Whiskey Acres Distilling Co. in DeKalb.
An Evening with Innovators is the DAAHA’s premiere annual event and fundraiser, and organizers said this year’s goal was to highlight agricultural innovation in DeKalb County according to a news release by the DAAHA.
The speakers will deliver TED Talk-style presentations and then participate in the fireside chat.
Tickets are available at the Egyptian Theatre box office or online for $35. Students with a current ID can buy tickets for $10.
